NeuroPrex NPX

NPX is a revolutionary wearable TMS device for treating drug-resistant major depression and PTSD. Patients are stimulated through the proprietary star-shaped electromagnetic coils embedded in a surface pain reduction™ shield layer to modulate nerve activities in brain and body tissues associated with depression, PTSD and other neurological diseases.

NeuroPrex advisors were interviewed by APA-TV to confirm the urgent and unmet need of NPX TMS device for serving the psychiatric industry and military community.

After completing more than 31 interviews and questionnaires with the leading doctors from the Stanford University psychiatrist and neurologist network of USA, and European Alliance Against Depression of Europe, we confirmed NPX is the solution to doctor's unmet need, who are actively seeking options of treatment for depression.

TMS treatment relieves 50-70% of depression symptoms and prevents suicidal behavior lasting for 6 months

The therapeutic worldwide market for depression and anxiety disorder is huge, over $18.3B and is still underserved. These diseases are the most prevalent health problem in the European workforce, accounting for €100B cost every year, and costs the US economy $210B every year in lost productivity and healthcare expenses and a total lost of over $1 trillion, globally. Thirty-three million persons have major depression in the U.S., 30 million in Europe, 100 million in China, 57 million in India and 8 million in Japan. Drugs are the primary method for treating major depression but with inadequate efficacy. 30% of patients are drug resistant and many have developed severe side effects such as attempted suicide and heart disease after a long term use, which makes the condition even worse.

Recently, the COVID-19 disease pandemic has more than doubled calls to suicide hotlines nationwide. Timely mental healthcare is urgently needed for patients and healthcare professional directly affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. As scientists and governments worldwide continue to understand the long-term nature of this contagion, the implications on mental well-being toward living behavior change post the outbreak must be kept in mind. This includes the acceleration of telemedicine and remote therapy as a tangible alternative to onsite care. The most common treatment for clinical depression is antidepressant drugs. However, these drugs have a slow response, an inadequate success rate and all come with side effects. Following antidepressant drug treatment, only 40% of patients achieve complete remission, while for 30% of patients, the treatment is ineffective and coupled with side effects such as stroke, myocardial infraction, epilepsy/seizures and self injurious behavior.

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-cleared treatment for drug-resistant depression that involves creating energy stimulation through electromagnetic coils in brain tissues associated with depression. TMS machine has been used for a growing number of drug resistant patients to relieve 50-70% of their depression symptom and it also eliminates suicidal behavior with a long lasting efficacy of up to 6 months.

Pain is the major side effect in current TMS therapy

For TMS Therapy 40% of patients treated with current TMS devices have side effects of severe headaches or scalp pain during or after treatment. Current TMS treatment and machine device units are expensive and must be performed by a specialized technician for coil positioning. Accessibility to TMS device is limited, available only in a few psychiatrist’s clinics and large hospitals.

NPX is the ultimate solution for anti-depression and PTSD

TMS devices are also effective at treating PTSD and other neurological disorders. Over 8 million Americans are affected by PTSD each year. PTSD is an unresolved healthcare problem in the military community. More than 20 military veterans commit suicide each day in the U.S. NPX is a ground-breaking TMS device, in combination with advanced telemedicine and cloud technology, which disrupts and simplifies current procedures for treating depression and PTSD, to immediately serve more doctors, patients and veterans in their comfortable, adaptable and natural setting.
